Instructions for our Tenants for registration and instructions for making different payments can be obtained from our office.
Some general information about using DEFT:
- You do not need to have or open an account with Macquarie Bank to use the DEFT payment system;
- To pay by DIRECT DEBIT from savings or cheque account you need to REGISTER your name and nominate your existing bank account details via www.deft.com.au. Login using your unique user code and follow the instructions;
- By registering, you are authorising DEFT payment systems to transfer a specific amount from your nominated bank account to our account, on the day you choose – we do not withdraw payments from your account at any time;
- You can choose to automatically pay the same amount on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis;
- You can choose to pay any amount on any day if you wish to pay different amounts each time or if you can not guarantee funds to cover an automatic debit;
- If you don’t register, you can only pay by CREDIT CARD;
- There are fees for each type of payment and these are currently:
- Direct Debit (by phone or internet) - $0.85
- Credit Card :
- Mastercard & Visa - $1.50% Merchant Surcharge Fee
- Amex – 3.30% Merchant Surcharge Fee
- Diners – 3.773% Merchant Surcharge Fee
- Dishonoured payments incur a fee of $15.00 from DEFT which we will charge on to you; you will also be charged a similar amount by your own financial institution for each dishonoured payment;
